That’s Jake on the left. Jake was his barn name – long quarter horse pedigree – but none of that mattered – great ranch horse with the sweetest disposition!! He is standing by John Wayne (over 30 years old) – never left John’s side – protected him – looked after him – always walked along side John even at his slow pace coming in for feed. That was Jake – all heart!! Jake got sick Saturday around noon – rushed him to the vet – thought it was colic – after many tests – IV’s were started – but nothing slowed down his worsening condition. I stood with sweet Jake who kept his head buried in my chest – Jake passed away at 2:30 Sunday morning. Many knew Jake – kids – grandkids – all took a turn on Jake who was always patient, calm, and loving. Jake – my dear sweet friend – you will be so missed. The trails will always be sweeter because of you. Now you are running in greener pastures today – drinking from the coolest water.
So sorry Linda. I’m at Mom’s in Katy and crying do hard I can hard see what I’m writing. He’s with God. I do believe that with all my heart. I love you!
