Every year at this time we start talking about winter grasses – cover crops. The hard part for the last few years has been making the decision about planting when we are in a drought scenario. A few weeks ago Eldorado sponsored Vanessa Corriher-Olson, Ph.D – Associate Professor & Extension Forage Specialist from the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Overton, Texas. She came to our area to speak to us about when – how – what to plant. We need to know what seed works best for our environment and where the seed is coming from so we know that it will adapt to our area.
