This morning – I was thinking. (For those of you who know me – that was more like shifting gears without clutching – a real grinding noise). Anyway – the weather has been absolutely breath taking the last few days. We received one-half inch of rain a few days ago and then cool mornings. As the sun was coming up in all its splendor this morning – I thought about all the adversity of the last few years – where we were at this time last year and where we are today. I know that I am a different person for having travelled that road. I see things differently. I don’t take God’s everyday gifts for granted – rain! – a glorious Spring – a sunny day without extreme temps – green grass and water for the animals – a hay field being cut and baled. I take notice now. And I thank God when I see it, feel it, taste it, smell it (oh, the sweet smell of rain).
God is good – ALL the time. The roads we travel are paved with adversity – in all kinds of different formats and measures. The times we are in are difficult. I know that each one of you have faced extreme difficulties – financially, emotionally, and physically. God has not taken His eye off of you for one minute!! Life can be like a bucking horse – Hang on!! Don’t get thrown!! It’s not easy and it’s scary – but you are not alone. God is with all of us – every step of every new day. HE is still in control and will see us through. Trust God!!
You touched my heart!
You make me cry! Your words are so moving. I thank God for the rain too and the good weather and for you! I pray the cattlemen, the rice farmers, the cotton farmers and all have a wonderful summer.
